Irish-Italian Overture: Cremona Heritage’s Prestigious Cultural Music Award Unveiled

Marking the anniversary today the 1st of February of the celebrated victory of King Louis XIV’s Brigade Irlandaise at the Surprise of Cremona Italy in 1702, Cremona Heritage announces a new cultural award linking Irish heritage with Italian history. The award will be for achievement in classical music performed with violin and where compositions facilitate, accompanied by the Irish harp.

The award will include the presentation to the recipient(s) of a replica bronze medal struck by King Louis XIV celebrating the victory at Cremona city, now famous worldwide as the home of Stradivarius, fabricator of the priceless violins.
